What is the difference between “classic” log analyzers like Elk / Kibana and JetOctopus?

  At JetOctopus, log analysis is oriented on targeted goals like indexability analysis and crawl budget optimization. What is the fastest way to integrate real-time logs?

Nginx integration is considered as the fastest way to integrate logs and follow each bot visit right away. It doesn’t affect your website’s performance and no sensitive data is involved. Please, check out our log integration guide and ask our support to create a tailored integration code for you.

Can I upload historical log data to my account?

Yes, you can do it yourself in the Logs > Manage Logs section or ask your account manager to do it for you.

Why do I get an error while uploading logs via “Manage Logs”?

At JetOctopus, we work almost with all log formats. But in order to make file upload through Logs > Manage Logs section inside the system, logs should have classic nginx format. If it’s unusual, it should take some time from our side to upload them for you. If your logs are not uploaded within 24h, it means something wrong with format or required fields. Can I integrate logs of the WordPress website?

Yes. WordPress integration is the most simple one. Please, contact your personal account manager or support via Online chat, providing your website’s URL. We will create a special plugin that would enable real-time integration and collection of your logs to JetOctopus. After you receive the plugin – install and switch it on. 

Can I integrate logs of the Shopify website?

Unfortunately, no. Specifics of Shopify website doesn’t allow any tool to retrieve access logs correctly.

How can I filter log data before sending it to JetOctopus?

If you’re using manual uploads or daily uploads – you can do it on your side before sending logs to JetOctopus. But please notice that all required fields should remain. You can check details here.

What if I already use some log analysis tools? How can I connect them to JO?

I’ve made an integration/uploaded logs, but suddenly data stopped collecting – what should I do?

We recommend to check-in with your website admins whether code/plugin/integration was switched-off by accident. If it’s not the reason, please contact our technical support through online chat.
